Beggers Cannot Be Choosers:Jakarta:Piombo Saffiano Metal Prada Wallet

Posted by The Bargain Hunter on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 3:21 PM

Unless you were born as a millionaire where money flows like the Danube, you could not care less about what to buy because most of the times, you will pursue for something extravagantly expensive and new of the rack but for a bargain hunter, most of the times, we are living by the saying of "beggers cannot be choosers". We want the best from everything that we spent and same as me, I would love to purchase the perfect item that includes the respective label, interesting design, reasonable pricing and good condition like this piombo saffiano metal Prada wallet that I bought for a 40% less from Plaza Indonesia, Jakarta . For a careful spender like me, I do think this is a successful buy because at least it is a Made-in-Italy-only-last-season-interesting-colour-good-condition-discounted Prada. I personally think bargain hunting is suitable for those who are afraid to spend because at least you will not ended up just talking, dreaming and hoping for the best purchasing without buying some!

Jakarta Oh Jakarta!

I have a new profound respect for Jakarta, at least for their diversity of shopping places which suited with my bargain hunting-ness, from their warehouses to big discounted on big labels. Because the purchasing power is much greater there, there are like 10 KL's Pavilions in the city alone! I got the chance to visit the city during the year end holiday which paralleled with their year end sale for 5 days which was fabulous. The trip was strictly for malls hopping only and it was extensive but successfully accomplished. The city itself is not so bad at all and it is just the matter of the gap between the rich and poor is too big but very crowded too. It is as big as 3 KL combined together and with population over 8 million, it is the 12th largest city in the world.

Grand Indonesia Mall, Jakarta, the house of Harvey Nichols

Many thanks to the family of Abang H and Kak E for their generosity to let us stayed there and their hospitality while we were there. I will share my shopping experiences for the next new postings. Enjoy!

I think among all, Gucci is the most "affordable" in terms of the price that comes with Made in Italy's quality and signature looks. I chose this white vinyl Gucci "Joy" medium Boston bag because of its simple design, monogram looks and the spaciousness. For a 30% discount, I know it is not really chic and cheap but for a Gucci, it still considered as a good buy!
